Peugeot now guarantees its electric cars longer than its thermal cars

Most electric cars have a specific warranty for their battery, often given for eight years and a given mileage, ensuring its replacement if the range drops below a certain threshold. At Peugeot, it’s a SoH (state of healthor state of health) of 70% which has been defined.

However, although the battery is the most expensive and most closely monitored element of an electric car, other specific parts can experience reliability issues (much less than on a 1.2 PureTech, rest assured, Editor’s note).

A guarantee which only covers the traction chain and is conditional on regular maintenance

So to reassure its customers who are considering taking the plunge, Peugeot has chosen to launch the Allure Care guarantee, “which covers the electric motor, charger, transmission and major electrical and mechanical components for up to eight years or 160,000 km”.

Be careful, however, you will need to ensure that periodic maintenance is carried out on time, every two years or every 25,000 km. Each visit to a Peugeot network workshop results in an extension of the warranty period by two years, up to a maximum of eight years. The rest of the car is still guaranteed for two years.

Launched on the new e-3008 electric SUV, this warranty is now extended to almost all of the brand’s electric cars. The e-208, e-2008, e-308, e-308 SW, e-3008, as well as the future e-408 and e-5008 are thus adorned with this guarantee. On the other hand, the Peugeot e-Rifter and e-Traveller, derived from utility models, are not affected.

This guarantee is automatically activated and is valid for all affected models purchased new in France since February 27, 2024. Unfortunately, Peugeot does not provide backward compatibility for customers who have just purchased one of the models that have become eligible.
