This eighth edition of Manga Festival de Peymeinade will take place on October 28 and 29 at the David Douillet gymnasium in this town in the Grasse hinterland. Still without any commercial aim, it is organized by the city’s communication, culture and associations department and has no other objective than the pleasure of visitors who love Asian culture. Entrance to the festival is free for minors and only €2 per day or €3 at the weekend for adults.
This new edition of the show offers new stands and several entertainment centers for a pleasant day. On the program, different stands will offer goodies, origami folding, video games, board games, figurines and mangas for sale.. Asian specialties will also be on sale for anyone who wants to discover or rediscover Asian cuisine.
Animation side, comics, mangas, lightsaber fights, hado e-sport, drawing workshops, kimono workshops, calligraphy workshops, three inflatable structures, a laser game, origami workshops, video games, virtual reality, shôgi , martial arts demonstration and the unmissable cosplay competition will be there.

- Cosplay competition – Saturday October 28, 2023
For cosplay enthusiasts, the Festival competition will be an opportunity to attend or participate in the unmissable cosplay parade. Registration on site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 4:30 p.m.: Start of the Cosplay parade at 4:30 p.m., awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

- Lightsaber fights from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., both days
Light Saber Compagnie will demonstrate lightsaber combat and involve the public to the delight of Stars Wars fans!

- Hado e-sport
This collective game combines the virtual and the real thanks to augmented reality. The goal is to hit opponents while avoiding enemy shots.
- Outdoor laser game
This shooting simulation game in which players equipped with infrared ray blasters compete against each other in a limited time will allow you to fight while having fun! The goal is to hit as many opponents as possible in order to achieve victory.
- Transformers stilt walkers
All-day stroll in Bumblebee and Optimus Prime costumes
- Drawing workshop
Budding artists will be able to learn manga drawing techniques.
- Shogi
This traditional Japanese board game, similar to chess, will appeal to
Strategy game enthusiasts.
- Japanese calligraphy workshop
This art of writing and concentration will be offered throughout the festival. Get your brushes!
- Manga makeup
Do you dream of manga or Japanese style makeup? A makeup artist will be present for children, adolescents and adults.
- Head pass
Put your face in the background and become a Japanese character for a moment! Brain teasers will be available to young and old. Don’t hesitate to use your smartphone to immortalize this moment!

- Asian specialties and treats for children
Asian specialties will be on sale for anyone who wants to discover or rediscover Asian cuisine.

You can immortalize your visit by taking a photo! It will be sent to you directly by email or on social networks.
In the part that concerns us, we will be on site with a stand divided in two. On the video game side, there will be a PlayStation 5 console (free play) and Nintendo Switches that our friends at the association LaxFly Game Tournament. We are going to organize several tournaments Super Smash Bros. UltimateSaturday October 28 and Sunday October 29. On the virtual reality side, our stand will offer positions with new experiences accessible from seven years old. We will offer a simulation with a real Kayak, mixed reality experiences and, Halloween requires, creepy experiences filled with Zombies and really creepy things. There you will be able to try out, on request, the new helmet of Metathe Quest 3.
