(CercleFinance.com) – Moderna announces that it is filing patent infringement lawsuits against Pfizer and BioNTech in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Düsseldorf Regional Court in Germany.
The biotech company believes that their comirnaty vaccine against Covid-19 infringes its own patents filed between 2010 and 2016 covering its fundamental messenger RNA technology, essential to the development of its own vaccine, Spikevax.
Moderna clarifies, however, that it is not seeking to remove the comirnaty from the market or seek an injunction against future sales, nor is it seeking damages on sales to the 92 low- and middle-income countries under the COVAX commitment.
