(CercleFinance.com) – Pfizer and BioNTech announce positive initial data from a phase 2/3 clinical trial evaluating the safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the bivalent Omicron BA.4 /BA.5 vaccine in the elderly 18 years and over.
Sera collected from participants seven days after a booster dose showed a substantial increase in Omicron BA.4/BA.5 neutralizing antibody response compared to pre-booster levels.
The vaccine was well tolerated, with early data showing a similar safety profile to the original vaccine. Further data measuring responses one month after vaccine administration are expected in the coming weeks.
