Phasmophobia: Entity Speed, Acceleration, and Peculiarities

As an entity hunter in Phasmophobia, you will, of course, encounter a variety of threats, all of which have unique characteristics. It is therefore sometimes difficult to know how to react in front of such or such individual, in particular with the speed, since certain entities are faster or slower than others. Also, if you’re playing in Nightmare mode, you can help yourself by ghost speed to determine who you are dealing with.

To have all the information in your possession, we indicate all the subtleties related to the speed of ghosts on Phasmophobia.

The speed of entities on Phasmophobia

Before discussing the special cases, be aware that the base speed of most entities of 1.7 meters per second, which is slightly faster than your base speed (1.6 m/s). But this speed will increase up to 1.65x base speed if the entity has you in its line of sight, which is why it’s important to break the ghost’s line of sight and quickly go into hiding.

But, in addition to this, be aware that some entities have different speed variations, while keeping the information indicated above.

  • The Djinn → If he is more than three meters away and he has a line of sight on you, he will move at a speed of 2.5 m/s. If he is within two meters, or if the circuit breaker is off, his normal speed.
  • Twins → Twin 1 (the one who attacks first) moves slower, with a speed of 1.53 m/s, while twin 2 (the one who launches the second hunt) moves a little faster, with a speed of of 1.87 m/s.
  • Raiju → If it is close to electronic devices on (DOTS, EMF, etc.), its speed is 2.5 m/s.
  • Moroi → The lower your sanity, the faster his speed increases. At 0%, its speed is 2.25 m/s. If he keeps you in his line of sight, it reaches 3.71 m/s.

There are entities that do not have any acceleration based on the time they have you in the line of sight, but they are still dangerous.

  • Deogen → This ghost has the particularity of finding players even if they are hidden. It must therefore be sown in the house, turning around objects, which is made possible thanks to its low speed. The closer it is to you, the slower it is: 0.4 m/s at less than 2.5 meters, 3 m/s if it is more than 6 meters away.
  • The Hantu → Its speed will depend on the temperature. The colder the room, the faster it will be. Maximum speed of 2.7 m/s, minimum of 1.4 m/s.
  • The ghost → If he sees you, his speed is 3 m/s. If you manage to hide, its speed will be only one meter per second.
  • Thaye → As you must know, the Thayé ages if you stay in his room. thus, at the start of the game, its maximum speed is 2.75 m/s. Each level decreases its speed by 0.175 m/s, to reach 1 meter per second at its lowest.

To help you recognize an entity’s speed, you can listen for footsteps. This will give you a very good indication of its speed.
