Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, reveals his salary

Over the months, Philippe Diallo gets used to his new costume as president of the French Football Federation (FFF). Thursday September 7, on the occasion of the reception of Ireland in the framework of the qualifiers for Euro 2024, the 60-year-old leader will attend, at the Parc des Princes, in Paris, his third match of the Blues as boss of the instance.

Elected with a Soviet score (91% of the vote), on June 10, during the General Assembly of the FFF, Mr. Diallo knows that his action will be particularly observed until the next federal election, scheduled for December 2024. ex-interim head of the institution must complete the mandate of his predecessor. This request comes from an observation: the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, is paid 3.62 million euros annually in 2022, bonuses included; the president of the European Union of Football Associations (UEFA), Aleksander Ceferin received 2.82 million euros gross in 2021-2022; the president of the Professional Football League, Vincent Labrune, won 1.2 million euros in 2022, according to The Team. “I think it’s a heavy trend in the world of sport as it evolves: the responsibilities, the skills, the time spent deserve, in my opinion, remuneration”Mr. Diallo told the Worldin early June.

Invited by our newspaper to be transparent about his emoluments, the president of the FFF did not, at first, follow up. He finally agreed, at the beginning of September, to detail the sums he receives from the federation he leads.

A possible salary increase

Elected in March 2021 as treasurer, “on a voluntary basis, without any compensation”, on the list of Mr. Le Graët, Mr. Diallo then became deputy vice-president, in the fall of 2021, after the departure of Brigitte Henriques as president of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee. As such, and on proposal » of Mr. Le Graët, he then “benefited from a monthly allowance of 8,000 euros gross, similar to that of Brigitte Henriques”.
