Lausanne (awp/ats) – After seventeen years at the head of the Vaud Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CVCI), Claudine Amstein has decided to hand over the baton. His successor Philippe Miauton will take office on May 1, 2022.
Current deputy director and secretary general of the CVCI, Philippe Miauton was chosen following a selection procedure that began last year. Aged 42 and father of two children, he has worked at the CVCI for five years, underlines the association on Sunday in a press release.
Former journalist and federal correspondent, as well as political secretary at national and cantonal level, the PLR has already developed, within the CVCI, communication, managed its bodies and the field of framework conditions. He has also taken an active part in process and management changes in recent years.
In the continuity of the work carried out until then, Philippe Miauton will be keen to take advantage of his large national network and his political knowledge. This in order to continue to defend employment, innovation and the rich economic fabric of Vaud which contribute to the dynamism of the canton.
Pandemic exit and elections
In the first place, it will be a question of accompanying the exit from the pandemic, observing the return to normal and its possible negative effects, he told Keystone-ATS. Contacting the new government to defend the framework conditions will also be a priority. At the same time, the current president of the Lausanne PLR and municipal councilor is a candidate on March 20 in the elections to the Grand Council.
