Philips Evnia 27M2N5500: a new QuadHD gaming screen full of arguments


Available now for 249 euros, the Philips Evnia 27M2N5500 completes the manufacturer’s 5000 range. This is an LCD monitor designed for gaming, notably offering QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. Let’s see what he has in his stomach.

Measuring 27 inches (68.5cm), the panel is Fast IPS type. With its 180 Hz refresh rate and 0.5 ms MPRT response time, this monitor is promised to be fast and responsive. No support announced, however, for G-Sync or FreeSync technologies, but adaptive synchronization is there. We also find support for HDR400 for richer image quality. ShadowBoost technology is also logically there to improve dark scenes, while Smart Crosshair promises “more precise aiming that ensures users never miss a single target again.”

Philips is also proud of the ecological aspect of its screen. The chassis is made from 85% post-consumer recycled plastic, and 35% for its foot. It offers complete and ergonomic adjustments (height, pivot, rotation and tilt). Regarding connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4.
