Philips was one of the first manufacturers to equip its stick vacuum cleaners with a floor washing system, however basic. The 8000 Series Aqua Plus XC8347/01 is equipped with this accessory, a bit revisited for the occasion.
A few years ago, Philips wanted to extend the scope of its stick vacuum cleaner in the Speed Pro stick format by adding a floor washing system; the Max Aqua FC6904 was born. It returns today under the name 8000 Series Aqua Plus XC8347/01. The main novelty is the redesigned and larger suction and floor cleaning head. While it was previously equipped with only one suction vent, the newcomer accommodates two, one at the front, the other at the rear. This avoids moistening the dust before sucking it up when pulling the vacuum cleaner towards you, which was not the case with previous models.
This innovation aside, the 8000 Series Aqua Plus XC8347/01 stick vacuum remains quite similar to what Philips offers with its Speed Pro series. We are therefore in the presence of a stick model whose heaviest elements (motor, dust container and filtration system) are placed near the user’s wrist. This architecture popularized by Dyson facilitates handling and allows the machine to be oriented in all directions (with its suction tube or not), in order to vacuum the smallest corners of the house, even the most inaccessible.
Philips remains faithful to monocyclonic filtration while more and more manufacturers (Dreame, Xiaomi…) are tempted by multicyclonic filtration, which is theoretically more efficient. Of course, this first barrier is associated with a foam filter and a HEPA filter, which prevents dust from coming out of the device after being swallowed.
The main advantage of monocyclonic filtration is to be less energy intensive than its multicyclonic counterpart. Philips assures that the 8000 Series Aqua Plus XC8347/01 is capable of operating for 80 minutes. Of course, it must be kept in mind that the vacuum cleaner is used at its minimum power level (out of two, plus a turbo mode) and without any accessory connected to achieve such a result. On this subject, note that if the remaining autonomy is not indicated to the nearest second, like what some stick vacuum cleaners offer, we still have a certain precision thanks to a percentage system. .
Apart from the mop head, the Philips 8000 Series Aqua Plus XC8347/01 comes with a more classic suction head, but designed to vacuum from the front, back and also from the sides, a system exclusive to the Dutch manufacturer. Much more classic, there is a ramp of LEDs on the front that allows you to spot dust on dark floors or under walls at a glance.
