Philips The One: a new premium TV that wants to tick all the boxes

The One range designates at Philips the television models where the consumer should not need to look at the small lines. For this, the television must include all the technologies expected of a high-end device, so as not to disappoint.

A few weeks after CES, TP Vision unveils the Philips 8807 DLED TV which must meet these specifications in 2022.

HDMI 2.1, HDR and a string of logos

The Philips TV 8807 is a 4K LCD LED television with Android TV available in a multitude of diagonals: 43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 86 inches. Philips obliges, there is Ambilight technology around the screen on three sides. Philips can above all highlight HDR compatibility and the labels that go with it: HDR10, HLG, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. Only Imax Enhanced is missing.

The TV incorporates a Philips P5 processing chip to run Android TV in version 11.0. It will be supported by 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, with a Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless connection.

In terms of good surprises, Philips offers HDMI 2.1 without trap: 48 Gb / s and Variable Refresh Rate are managed. It is therefore a television that should adapt perfectly to the latest generation consoles, in particular thanks to its refresh rate rising to 120 Hz in 4K UHD.

A “competitive” price

The manufacturer has not yet specified the release date and the price of this range of televisions, but promises a “competitive price”.
