TP Vision has just lifted the veil on the Philips OLED807 television, the first model from the manufacturer to use the new Oled EX panel, the sixth generation Philips P5 processor, a light sensor associated with an Ambient Intelligence mode, a 2.1 audio system from 70W and HDMI 2.1 4K/120Hz VRR.
The manufacturer does not stop there since the OLED807 integrates the sixth version of the Philips P5 AI video processor. The improvements mainly concern the support of the ambient light sensor in order to adapt the image to the surrounding lighting. Several modes are available: eye protection (reduction of blue light), optimization of dark areas (opens up dark areas in broad daylight), or even optimization of color temperatures (color of the temperatures displayed adapted to that of ambient light ).
The Auto film mode, on the other hand, allows you to choose a picture preset that is automatically applied when a film is displayed on the screen (Personal, Crystal Clear, Home Cinema/Dolby Vision Bright, Filmmaker Mode/ Dolby Vision Dark, Expert 1, Expert 2, Calman).
This new television should display an excellent quality image, like the Philips 65OLED936. We’ll be sure to check it out as soon as this model hits the market.
If the television still has two HDMI 2.1 ports compatible with 4K / 120 Hz and VRR, including the AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and the Nvidia G-Sync, it stands out for the integration of a Gaming Control menu bar. This displays useful information for gamers such as the display delay, the refresh rate, the definition, the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) system used, the activation of HDR, the selected color space, the audio output, motion compensation, color temperature, display of a reticle, or even control of dark areas.
The Philips OLED807 is now compatible with IMAX Enhanced, in addition to HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. On the audio side, the power is more than doubled since the device embeds a 2.1 system of 70 W (30 W on the OLED806). An upcoming update will turn the TV into a center speaker in a DTS Play-Fi system. The remote with mic still features backlit keys, like on the OLED936, but its back is now clad in Muirhead Scottish leather.
The central foot of this model is not rotatable, but a future version should remedy this.
The Philips OLED807 will be available in the coming months for an as yet unknown price. With its Oled EX panel, it should cost more than entry-level models.
