PHOTO – Charlene and Albert II of Monaco: crowds and selfies in Hamburg

The Grimaldis have arrived in Hamburg! After King Charles III in March 2023 and Norwegian Prince Haakon last November, it was the turn of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco to visit the merchant city. According to information reported by our colleagues atAbendblatt, the Monegasques disembarked this Thursday, April 25 at Hamburg airport, where representatives of the Monegasque consulate welcomed them. They were then taken to their residence, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, located on the banks of the Alster. There, they were able to interact with their fans, who came in large numbers to welcome them and who had been waiting for them for hours, happily taking selfies and signing autographs.

During this official visit, the Prince and Princess of Monaco are accompanied by their two children, twins Jacques and Gabriella. A trip that should please them since it aims to inaugurate the “Monaco” section of Miniatur Wunderland (The land of miniature wonders, in French). This museum, similar to the France miniature park, offers a miniature representation of the most emblematic places in the world: the Empire State Building in New York, the Colosseum in Rome, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Acropolis in Athens… However , until now, one place remained absent: Monaco. This error is now corrected!

Albert II, on the starting line of the Monaco Grand Prix miniature version

The Grimaldis will therefore be entitled to a private tour of the museum, where they will discover the new miniature world of Monaco at Miniatur Wunderland. This project required more than two years of work and includes the famous Formula 1 circuit of the Monaco Grand Prix. Prince Albert II will also participate in this miniature version of the legendary race. Far from being a simple museum of “sculptures”, the Miniatur Wunderland brings together thousands of electrical circuits to recreate the illusion of day and night, illuminate buildings and, of course, make cars move. Thus, the prince will be able to choose his favorite car, in the hope that it crosses the finish line first. Albert II of Monaco will also officiate at the start of the Miniature Grand Prix, while Frederik Braun, director of the museum, will provide commentary.
