After his father, Georges Wolinski, who died on January 7, 2015 in the attack on Charlie Hebdo, the columnist and entrepreneur Elsa Wolinski lost her mother Maryse Wolinski on December 9, 2021after six years of struggle against “a cancer of sorrow”. News that she learned in a taxi and which shocked her, as she recounts in a series of publications on Instagram. She traces her story there “which has not always been simple” with this journalist mother, destroyed by the death of her husband, but who nevertheless never lacked love. “There was love, a lot of love”, she confides to her subscribers, describing in detail the stages of her mourning.

An ordeal made more difficult by her mother’s illness, from which she had difficulty recovering. “It took me two years to digest his six years of cancer that we lived together.” A testimony of this illness experienced together, mother and only daughter, which had not cost Maryse Wolinski her tenacity. “She always helped me launch my brand” ‘Sisterhood’, a committed and supportive brand for all women, says Elsa Wolinski. She then adds that her mother “listened to him and told him not to give up” in his projects. Eventually, the journalist and writer concludes on the void left by her mother: I miss Maryse very much. In addition to his mother, Arnauld Champremier-Trigano’s wife regularly visits tribute to his father, who died in 2015 in the attacks that shook France. Four years after the events, she notably wrote an open letter to Georges Wolinskito share his pain: “I would like to admit to you that I no longer feel so bad, to tell you that I even forget you sometimes. Sometimes I just want to smell you, you know that daddy smell that reassured me, she began to write. She continued with words of hope about his future : “You remember when you visited me in my daydreams and I took you back to your grave because it was time for me to make a life for myself and well that’s it she started I have traced my new path and it is beautiful daddy I can see far and it’s not all black anymore.”
