PHOTO – François Hollande and Julie Gayet in Tulle: the couple inseparable until the polling station

After handing over the keys to the Élysée to Emmanuel Macron in 2017, François Hollande decided to get a change of scenery with Julie Gayet and dropped off his boxes in Tulle. Those who said yes for life in June 2022 have been regularly showing up in this prefecture in the Corrèze department ever since. It was together that the former President of the Republic and the actress went to the polling station in the town this Sunday, June 30, for the first round of the legislative elections. As reported by our colleagues at BFMTV, François Hollande decided to slip his ballot into the ballot box wearing a navy blue suit worn with a polka-dot tie. Julie Gayet, for her part, opted for a long carmine red coat.

On June 9, Nicolas Sarkozy’s successor and the star of Select Hotel had already appeared as accomplices in the streets of Tulle, to go and vote in the European elections. To do his civic duty, François Hollande had this time chosen to wear a black ensemble. For her part, Julie Gayet had been photographed in a gray and flowing jumpsuit worn with a burgundy handbag signed Hermès, her favorite brand. Indeed, it was in a sumptuous white dress made of silk crepe by the famous haute couture house that she married the politician at the town hall of Tulle, on June 4, 2022.

François Hollande and Julie Gayet: what is their life like in Tulle?

François Hollande and Julie Gayet have found their little corner of paradise in a 19th-century mansion nestled on the heights of Tulle. And when they are not enjoying their home located on a 2,800 m² plot of land, the former head of state and his other half wander the streets of the city center, regularly going to the market in their town. In July 2021, in front of the cameras of France 3, the couple had also opened up about their little weekend ritual as Tullois: “The market, 9am, with oysters.“Fresh products from the region that François Hollande enjoys cooking, as his friend Jean-Pierre Jouyet confided in an interview with Gala.fr: “He has a very special talent, which we saw again in Corrèze at the wedding, he is a very good cook. We ate very good ribs of beef with very good sautéed potatoes.
