The Sony Photography Awards Open competition rewards the best individual shots taken in 2022. This edition, more than 200,000 images were submitted for the Open competition alone. Each winner selected by the jury wins Sony photo equipment as well as a prize of $5,000, enough to afford state-of-the-art equipment. Obviously, the competition is open to everyone, and not only to owners of Sony hybrid devices.
The overall winner will be revealed at the awards ceremony on April 13, 2023 in London, while a selection of finalists from the Sony Photography Awards will be on display at Somerset House from April 14 to May 1, 2023.
