Russian politician enraged with Dubai vacation

After greetings from a beach bar in Mexico, snapshots by a Russian regional politician caused displeasure. The MP from Vologda poses on Dubai’s waterfront, which greatly displeases the region’s governor. A picture with the daughter of Defense Minister Shoigu is also amazing.

Against the background of the war against Ukraine, vacation photos of a regional politician have caused displeasure in Russia for the second time in just a few days. MP Denis Dolschenko from the Vologda region in northern Russia published a picture on social networks last Friday showing him making a “thumbs up” gesture on a waterfront in Dubai.

Another photo also attracted attention Dolzhenko with Ksenia Shoigu, the daughter of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Russian media assume that it was also taken in Dubai.

Referring to Dolschenko, the governor of the Vologda region, 400 kilometers north-east of Moscow, criticized Oleg Kuvshinnikov, now on his Telegram channel: “While compatriots are risking their lives and defending the interests of our country with guns in their hands, someone still considers it permissible to vacation in luxury resorts and report about it on social networks.”

Russian leadership is silent about the photo of Shoigu’s daughter

On the other hand, no one from the Russian leadership commented on Shoigu’s daughter. Just recently, another Russian politician annoyed his compatriots with a New Year’s greeting from afar: Maxim Vasilyev from the Kursk region bordering Ukraine, sitting in a Mexican beach bar and sipping cocktails, declared that he wished everyone “a lot of money and a good mood”.

On the orders of Kremlin chief Vladimir, around 300,000 men were drafted into the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine last fall. Hundreds of thousands more Russians fled abroad, either temporarily or permanently, fearing conscription. In Russian propaganda, those who left the country were branded as traitors to the fatherland.
