Between French personalities and Quebec personalities, the love story has existed for several decades! Despite the Atlantic that separates them, the two populations, often finding themselves around their love for their common language, meet and often collaborate to give what the best of the Francophonie can bring, as shown this Friday, March 22, The great concert of the Francophonie, broadcast by France 3. Among the iconic couples born from these meetings, one of the best known remains that formed by the French singer Jean-Jacques Goldman and the Quebec singer Céline Dion. The latter, which experienced a slight decline at the beginning of the 90s, found success again thanks to its collaboration with the interpreter ofFly Me, who contributed to two of his best albums: TwoAnd If it were enough to love.

Another Franco-Quebec musical couple synonymous with success, that formed by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon. Wishing at all costs to modernize the musical comedy genre in France, France Gall’s companion will join forces with the Quebec lyricist to write together Starmania, a work that has since become iconic. Having become true friends thanks to this collaboration, Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon remained close until the death of the first in 1992. In an interview, the Quebec lyricist even revealed that he had “cried like a brother” to his disappearance.

Love, humor… the success of Franco-Quebec couples on all fronts!

Franco-Quebec meetings also gave birth to several notable love stories among the stars. Among them, the one formed in particular by the French Minister of Justice, Éric Dupond-Moretti and his partner, the Quebec singer Isabelle Boulay. A couple with unusual beginnings but strong love, together since 2016. For several years, the couple formed by Lorie and Garou made their fans dream on both sides of the Atlantic, before their story finally ended, in 2010.

Finally, beyond music and love, French and Quebec stars also find themselves in the field of humor. Many comedians from both countries, like Franck Dubosc and Stéphane Rousseau for example, have collaborated and become friends, allowing each to become better known in the other’s countries!
