A great sports fan, he likes to know what is hidden in the lives of athletes, but does not neglect film or singing stars. After a long journey in the Canadian far north, he returned more determined than ever to see what was going on among the people of France and elsewhere.

As tradition dictates, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, received the French handball players, who have become European handball champions. The Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, was also there.

France is perhaps the most successful nation in team sports in recent years and handball is the most striking proof of this. If the XV of France failed in its quest for the world title last September, the French handball players became world champions at the end of the year and they had the honors of the President of the Republic, who received them at the Elysée with Brigitte and a big French star. Rebelote this Monday, January 29 for Emmanuel Macron, who never stops celebrating the titles of the national teams. A very good omen just a few months before the Paris Olympic Games, where all team sports hope to shine and bring home medals for the French delegation.

While waiting for this deadline, Nikola Karabatic and his teammates were at the Elysée Palace last night where a reception was given in their honor. As with the handball players a few weeks ago, the President of the Republic took the time to congratulate the European champions, who have just achieved a resounding feat in Germany. The Minister of Sports and National Education, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, was also present with Emmanuel Macron to attend this great event (all the photos can be found in the slideshow). The latter was also present in Cologne to attend the final. Far from the controversies, she jubilantly faced Queen Mary of Denmark, dejected after the defeat.

The president already turned towards the Paris Olympics

Faced with a golden generation of French handball, the President of the Republic reaffirmed his total confidence in this group and its executives to repeat this feat in a few months in Paris, while “the whole world will want to come to Paris to want to beat you and win a new title”as the president indicated. “I have immense confidence because you hate losing and the Blues have already won the Olympic double in 2008 and 2012, the coach (Guillaume Gille) was there, Nikola too”added Brigitte Macron’s husband.

A beautiful evening at the Elysée for the French handball team and in particular Nikola Karabatic and his brother Luka who had already celebrated their magnificent victory with family with women and children the evening before in Germany.
