A first evening dedicated to reunions! As the Cannes Film Festival opens its doors this Tuesday, May 14 for a 77th edition, the first stars flock to the red carpet for a particularly anticipated climb of the steps. And among the members of the jury, expected for the Opening Ceremony, or the actors of Second Actby Quentin Dupieux, presented out of competition for the first evening, it was Iris Mittenaere who was particularly noticed.
Sublime in an incredible silver dress, transparent and open at the back, adorned with her Burma jewels (pieces from the new Serpent collection dedicated to the world of Bestiary), the young woman with bobbed hair climbed the steps with her beauty and her usual elegance. And with a smile that we are delighted to see on her, she who has just announced her breakup with Diego El Glaoui. A couple for four years, the two thirty-somethings announced their engagement in 2022, before visibly moving away in recent months.
If they had long denied any breakup, it was on Instagram last weekend that both ended up making it official. Bad news which obviously didn’t make him lose his smile. Unless it is the fact of meeting one of his ex-companions on the red carpet! Discreetly in love for a few years, both separated at the end of 2018 but remained on good terms. And should be delighted to be able to greet each other at the top of the steps, before the long-awaited screening!
A reunion for an anticipated film
As a reminder, it is Second Act, the new film by Quentin Dupieux, which has the honor of being screened at the opening this year. It must be said that this anticipated comedy has a particularly strong cast and a scenario that promises to be full of surprises: Florence, played by Léa Seydoux, wants to introduce David (played by Louis Garrel) to her father Guillaume, played by Vincent. Lindon. But David is not really on the same wavelength as the young woman and pushes her towards her friend Willy, played by Raphaël Quenard.
A five-star cast, therefore, which is rather accustomed to Cannes: like her partners, Léa Seydoux climbs the steps almost every year. And like Vincent Lindon, who was awarded the Male Interpretation Prize in 2015 for La Law of the Marketshe has already won a prize there: in 2013, it was indeed to Abdellatif Kechiche but also to her actresses Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos that the Palme d’Or went to The Life of Adele.
