A great sports fan, he likes to know what is hidden in the lives of athletes, but does not neglect film or singing stars. After a long journey in the Canadian far north, he returned more determined than ever to see what was going on among the people of France and elsewhere.

The aisles of the Philippe Chatrier central court were packed to watch what could be Rafael Nadal’s last match at Roland-Garros. Nolwenn Leroy and Arnaud Clément were present to witness the defeat of the king of clay.

The handkerchiefs were out this Monday, May 27 on the central court of Roland-Garros where spectators perhaps witnessed a moment in history. After a race against time to return to his best level, Rafael Nadal managed to return in time to participate in the Grand Slam tournament which he has won 14 times in his career. Bad luck, he fell on a bone for his first match when facing one of the favorites of this edition, the German Alexander Zverev.

Eliminated from Roland-Garros, he had a moving speech in front of his wife and son for what could therefore be his last appearance at Roland-Garros, as he himself mentioned. To attend what could well be the last match of the best clay court player of all time, the stands of the Philippe Chatrier court were obviously full and the stars had made the trip, starting with Nolwenn Leroy and Arnaud Clément. The former tennis player and the singer seemed very emotionally involved throughout the match (all the photos can be found in the slideshow) and we imagine that Rafael Nadal’s defeat must not have delighted them. Next to them, we could see another well-known couple since Henri Leconte and his partner Maria Dowlatshahi were also in the stands this Monday.

Patrick Bruel and Lucas Bravo in the stands

Former great French players were well represented for this summit meeting with also the presence of Marion Bartoli and her husband Yahya Boumediene. Former footballers were also there, like Marcel Desailly and Omar da Fonseca. Actor Lucas Bravo also made the trip, as did the host Julien Courbet, seen alongside the businessman, Jean-Claude Darmon. Known to be a big sports fan, Patrick Bruel couldn’t miss such a strong moment in tennis history.

The journalist Alexandre Ruiz was accompanied by a friend to attend the match of the day, while Jade Foret-Lagardère came without her husband, the billionaire Arnaud Lagardère. The singer of the group Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz had made the trip to France, just like former tennis player Ion Tiriac. Business man Antoine Arnault was able to attend the match, just like the politician Hervé Morin and the students from the last season of Star Academy, including Axel, Héléna, Candice, Julien.
