After revealing its first foldable smartphone on video, Pete Lau’s company leaked images of the OnePlus Open. The icing on the cake is that the imposing photo module is finally visible.
THE OnePlus Open will soon have no more secrets for no one, aesthetically at least, since the company let slip photographs of its very first foldable smartphone on the networks. It must be admitted that the Shenzhen firm’s proposal is, to say the least, attractive. According to WinFuture, the Open will be the version offered on the international market, while the Chinese will have the premiere of the Oppo N3 Fold. That said, no one should lose out, since the two foldables should share the same technical platform, apart from a few details.
The German site tells us that BOE, to which we owe the foldable screen of the Asus ZenBook 17 Fold, for example, will manufacture the 7.8-inch flexible OLED panel inside the device. On the outside, if the rumor is true, we will be entitled to a 6.31-inch diagonal screen. As for the internal components, the OnePlus Open should be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, and the RAM could reach 16 GB. The rumor announces a storage limited to 256 GB.

The OnePlus Open will come up against competition from the Pixel Fold, Galaxy Z Flip and Fold 5 in particular. Although this information remains to be taken conditionally, we can expect that the imposing camera module on the back of the OnePlus Open sports two lenses (wide-angle and very wide-angle) at 48 Mpx, as well as a 64 Mpx sensor “with 3x optical zoom”. The OnePlus Open should be marketed in Europe from October 19, 2023, at a price around $1,700 in the United States. We can therefore expect it to be even more expensive on our side of the Atlantic.
