05/23/2022 – Eruption of the underwater volcano Kavachi
In the Pacific, more precisely on the Solomon Islands, the underwater volcano Kavachi has erupted. The lava creates a beautiful spectacle of colors under water.
Satellite images from NASA show the eruption that turned the sea turquoise-green. The hot magma can stretch up to a kilometer.
Kavachi is one of the most active underwater volcanoes in the Pacific – the island is often called “Kavachi’s Furnace”.
