Pierre Littbarski and Jimmy Hartwig comment on the games of the DFB-Elf at the European Football Championship for the news channel Welt.

The European football championship is approaching in great strides: From June 11 to July 11, the tournament originally planned for 2020 will be held in eleven different European cities. The news channel Welt has now strengthened its team of experts for reporting with two former soccer heroes.

“With inside knowledge and a clear edge”

Former national players Jimmy Hartwig (66) and Pierre Littbarski (61) comment and analyze the games of the German team, the current situation of the team and the course of the tournament, as the broadcaster announced on Friday.

“We’re looking forward to two strong guys with insider knowledge and a clear edge in our EM studio,” explains Jan Philipp Burgard, head of planning and member of the editor-in-chief. “The voice of Jimmy Hartwig has weight not only in sporting, but also in social issues. World champion Pierre Littbarski is also a friend of the clear word and also a popular figure.”

The European Championship opening game will take place on June 11th in Rome between hosts Italy and Turkey. The DFB selection will play in the Munich arena against world champions France (June 15), European champions Portugal (June 19) and Hungary (June 23).
