Meet the Pikmin!
A strange adventure full of surprises awaits Captain Olimar in Pikmin on Nintendo Switch, an HD version of the classic originally released on Nintendo GameCube! The adventure begins when Olimar’s ship crashes on an unknown planet. The captain then sets himself the task of rebuilding it with the help of new allies he has made on the spot: the mysterious Pikmin!
Olimar’s Odyssey
While on a mission aboard the Dolphin, his trusty ship, an asteroid hits it hard and sends it crashing on an unknown planet. Fortunately, Captain Olimar comes out of it safe and sound, but he now has no way of getting home. It’s time to get to work!
Olimar must collect the 30 lost parts of his ship to return home safe and sound, but there is a major problem: the planet’s atmosphere is toxic and he has only 30 days to complete this task! The challenge promises to be gargantuan for one man, but fortunately for Olimar, he will be able to count on many allies to help him…
Survive on the planet
The Pikmin are your best allies! Call upon their combined strength by launching them at your target to knock down obstacles, build bridges, return ship parts to base, and fight off lurking predators. You can guide up to 100 Pikmin in the field at a time, as well as keep those who aren’t with you safe in your base.
Each type of Pikmin has a unique talent. Red Pikmin are skilled in combat and are immune to flames, Yellow Pikmin can be thrown farther than others and use Rock Bombs, and Blue Pikmin can breathe underwater.
What’s new ?
Pikmin 1 on Nintendo Switch not only features HD graphics, but also all the improvements that the NEW WAY TO PLAY version brings! released on Wii. The following actions are simplified: throwing Pikmin, separating them, switching from one type to another, as well as gathering Pikmin on a ship part or an enemy. It is also possible to go back to a previous day to replay it and correct your mistakes.
The Nintendo Switch version also features optional motion controls that use Joy-Con controllers, similar to those found in the NEW WAY TO PLAY!
