Singer Pink has spoken openly about her marriage to her husband Carey Hart, explaining what the couple has learned in 15 years of marriage.
Pink (41, “What About Us”) and her husband Carey Hart (45) have been married since 2006. In an interview with the US magazine “People” the singer has now spoken openly about her marriage and revealed what the two have learned in their relationship over the years. “When you get together for the first time, you see this person as your whole world. One person cannot be your whole world. You have to have your own passions, your own friends, your own time for yourself,” explains the 41-year-old. It used to be very demanding. “Now we expect less from each other and that allows us to somehow give each other more.”
The musician had already revealed in the past that the couple is also looking for help when it comes to relationships. “We both have individual therapy and couples therapy,” she explains in the “People” interview. “Long-term relationships aren’t easy. It’s much easier to jump from relationship to relationship because then you don’t have to fix the problems that keep coming up. You ultimately have to deal with yourself. You can’t fix the other person. ” There are good and bad days and it is an illusion to believe that one is developing at the same pace and in the same direction. “It takes work to keep redefining what is important. I never want to give up my family. That was my main goal because I had a broken family.”
Singer Pink and the former motocross pro Hart married in January 2006. The couple met in 2001 and were separated in between. In 2008 they announced the separation again. In April 2009, Hart stated that they both wanted to give the marriage another chance. Together they have daughter Willow Sage (9) and son Jameson Moon (4).
