Pinzgauer outwitted – five-digit sum captured with bank app trick

A 30-year-old from Pinzgau fell victim to internet scammers. On January 9, the man received an apparently serious text message and was asked to extend the validity period of the bank app installed on his cell phone. The Pinzgauer then opened a link.

As a result, a bank website that he was familiar with opened up. After entering his username, the 30-year-old became suspicious and noticed that a five-digit amount had been transferred to a German account. This account was closed by the owner after the money was withdrawn, which means that a chargeback was no longer possible. The surveys are in progress.
