Dramatic news from Hawaii: Professional surfer and “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Tamayo Perry is dead. This was reported by the Associated Press, among others. According to the report, Perry, who also worked as a lifeguard, died in a shark attack off the island of Oahu in the US state of Hawaii, according to authorities. He was only 49 years old.

The Honolulu Emergency Services Department confirmed the death in an official press conference. The responsible authorities responded to an emergency call at around 1 p.m. on Sunday. According to the report, a surfer had been attacked by a shark on the famous Malaekahana Beach on the north coast of Oahua.

They immediately went out on a jet ski and were able to bring the victim to shore. Unfortunately, Perry was found dead after he had obviously been bitten by a shark. As the “Stab Magazine” also reportsPerry’s arm and leg were torn off by the shark.

In a statement on Perry’s death, the water protection authority Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services spoke of a “universally loved lifeguard” who had an infectious personality and loved people more than anything. The mayor of the town also spoke of a “tragic loss”.

Perry’s most famous role was as a pirate in the fourth part of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” cult film series “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” from 2011 alongside superstar Johnny Depp (61).
