Brussels is striving for a “submissive and submissive” Polish government in order to achieve another goal, Kaczynski told Gazeta Polska (Wednesday). This goal is a completely undemocratic superstate, with a “hierarchization of the peoples, which is based on the fact that some receive a sovereign status – for example Germany and the Germans – but Poland and the Poles not.”
On Tuesday, in a debate in the European Parliament, Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki defended a ruling by the Polish Constitutional Court that questions the primacy of EU law. The EU Commission regards this decision as highly problematic because it could give the Polish government an excuse to ignore the unpleasant judgments of the ECJ.
EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen threatened Poland in the debate because of the questioning of EU law with new procedures that could also lead to the reduction of EU funds or the withdrawal of voting rights in EU decisions. Morawiecki then accused the EU Commission of extortion.
