Pixar quiz: 17 questions for real fans while waiting for Elementary at Cannes 2023

The 26 feature films made in Pixar studios hold no secrets for you, from the characters to the posters? Prove it, and more than once, as “Elementary” is about to close Cannes 2023.

On March 27, 1996 in France, animation took a leap into the future when Toy Story was released, the first feature film entirely produced on a computer. But also the first from Pixar studios, hitherto known for their shorts, and which are preparing to become the world leaders in animation.

A status that the firm with the lamp still holds, almost 30 years later, even if Disney (which bought it in 2006) has since regained the hair of the beast, and that Dreamworks and Illumination have done more than resist. But it is to Pixar that the Cannes Film Festival offered the privilege of closing this 76th edition, thanks to Elementary.

If this single announcement puts you in a trance, it’s because you are one of the studio’s fans. And that we will therefore have to prove it by passing our two quizzes without fail.

What Pixar film does this character come from (secondary, it’s too easy otherwise)?

What Pixar movie is this poster detail from?

Nine years after the presentation of Vice Versa, Pixar is back on the Croisette. Out of competition but with an opus that promises: Elementary. Or the story of friendship between beings of fire and water in a city where the elements live in perfect harmony.

A pitch reminiscent of that of Vice Versa, while the city that we see in the trailers evokes opuses such as Monstres & Cie, with its company which adapts the same codes as ours, but with its specificities. Directed by Peter Sohn (Le Voyage d’Arlo and the short Cloudy Passages), Elementary will be released in theaters on June 21, with the voices of Adèle Exarchopoulos and Vincent Lacoste in the French version.
