Google Pixel 6: the update is finally here!
Marketed last October, Google’s new Pixel 6s have made their owners happy, even if some have quickly reported various bugs and other malfunctions. Software problems that Google has visibly struggled to correct, with an update scheduled for December, before being postponed…
But good news today, since a major update (baptized “SQ1D.220105.007”, and of just over 200 MB) is being deployed, for (among others) Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The description is quite brief, since Google simply indicates that this update “ helps fix critical bugs and improve your device’s performance and stability “.
On its official forum, Google reveals more, and indicates in particular that it has corrected the problem which caused the screen to unlock after a missed call when no screen lock was configured. The American giant also promises to have corrected network problems, or even the one that prevented making an emergency call.
Note that the update also includes all the fixes initially planned in the December 2021 update. It thus corrects concerns related to the photo section, not to mention the problem which prevented the launch of the Pixel Stand configuration. Google would also have optimized the performance of the fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi as well as autonomy, and allowed the use of the BMW Digital Car Key function on the Pixel 6 Pro.
This new update is currently being deployed and includes a large number of fixes related to the system or the user interface. It remains to be seen now whether the latter will finally manage to offer the Pixel 6 a software section worthy of the name.
