With the Pixel 6a, Google has presented an interesting mid-range smartphone that will find its buyers at a price of 459 euros – at least if you can buy it. In Europe, the cheap Google cell phone is only available to a limited extent. Many Europeans look into the tube.

At the I/O 2022, Google ignited a real firework display and consistently expanded its ecosystem. One of the many new announcements was the Pixel 6a, a cheap alternative to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro that came out last fall. However, the Pixel 6a is not immediately available – buyers will have to wait until the end of July. And also after the deadline, many interests, at least in Europe, will be left empty-handed.

Google Pixel 6a only available in some European countries

Google only offers the Pixel 6a in some European countries. These include Germany, France and Italy (source: 9to5Google). Spaniards and Britons are also among the lucky ones who will be able to hold a Pixel 6a in their hands from July 21st. But that’s about it.

Our Neighbors in Austria and Switzerland, for example, look into the tube, as well as potential buyers in the Netherlands, Poland or Denmark. We can only hope that the final word has not yet been spoken and that Google will at least offer the Pixel 6a in these and other European countries at a later date. Anything else would be a slap in the face and not beneficial for Google itself.

What else Google presented at I/O 2022:

Google’s junk show

None of the products Google announced at I/O 2022 are available immediately. Sometimes buyers have to wait until autumn, sometimes they are even put off for the coming year – for example with the surprisingly announced pixel tablet. Google couldn’t even give a rough time frame here. The developer conference thus became a junk show.
