Pixel 7 & 7 Pro: US prices that do not change, but the risk of an additional cost in Europe

The next Pixel phones no longer hold much of a secret. In addition to Google’s very transparent communication campaign on the subject, rumors and leaks of all kinds complete the picture. From the design to the technical sheet, we know almost everything about future smartphones made in google. The only remaining unknown was the price, until now.

$599 and $899

Artem Russakovskii, the founder of the specialized site AndroidPolice, obtained the North American prices for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. According to a listing from the Target store, the Pixel 7 will retail for $599, while the Pixel 7 pro will retail for $899. A nice difference between the two models, which is explained by the fact that the latter has a much more attractive technical sheet than the Pixel 7.

Note that these prices correspond exactly to those of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro when they were launched in 2021. Google is therefore adopting the same strategy as Apple with its iPhone 14, at least across the Atlantic. Indeed, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro had arrived with us with prices substantially similar to those in effect in the United States, but nothing says that it will be the same this year.

Prices in euros surely inflated

The inflationary economic context and the euro-dollar parity could inflate the labels of Pixel 7 and 7 Pro on the Old Continent. This was seen again with the iPhone 14 which are much more expensive in France than in the United States. Unless Google is cutting corners on its margins to strike a blow, we can expect a salty addition. After all, even in a more favorable economy last year, the Pixel 6 took €50 just crossing the Atlantic ($599 vs. €649). Note that these prices are for the basic version of the Pixel 7, with 128 GB of storage. The 256 GB version will undoubtedly cost more and it is not excluded that certain models of Pixel 7 Pro cost more than 1000 €.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro may well be expensive.

The source behind this leak also indicates that the phones could begin their official marketing on October 13, exactly one week after the Google conference and the opening of pre-orders. Until then, the rumors rather evoked an availability around October 18. All that remains is to wait for the official announcement to find out if these Pixel 7s are really worth cracking up on your PEL.
