The new design of the Pixel 8 Pro has leaked: the mobile becomes more compact and its screen is no longer curved.
A few hours after the leak concerning the mid-range Pixel 7a smartphone, it is the turn of the Pixel 8 Pro to be the subject of a leak, which confirms the difficulties of Google to keep its future products secret until their release. announcement.
A smaller, flat screen?
This time the information comes to us from the publication Smartprice which cites leaker OnLeaks as a source. According to the renders, the Pixel 8 Pro would benefit from a change in design compared to its predecessor, with much more rounded corners.
The photo block is also modified, the three sensors being grouped together in the same oval-shaped area, while one of them was separated from the rest on the previous generation. An additional lens makes its entry, positioned under the LED Flash, but its role has not been revealed.
The Pixel 8 Pro would display dimensions of 162.6 × 76.5 × 8.7 mm (up to about 12 mm thick at the level of the photo block) and would integrate a 6.52-inch screen. If this were true, the display area would be reduced compared to that of the Pixel 7 Pro, which announces a diagonal of 6.7 inches.
One of the explanations for this decrease is precisely the appearance of the rounded corners mentioned earlier, but also the fact that the screen would be flat, and not slightly curved.
A preview at Google I/O?
Otherwise, the Pixel 8 Pro should have a Tensor G3 chip engraved in 3 nm using a Samsung process, which should bring a serious performance boost and better energy efficiency. We’re also expecting new photo modules to make the most of the range’s incredible software processing capabilities, but the exact specs aren’t known yet.
The Pixel 8 Pro could be teased during the Google I/O event scheduled for May 10, 2023, but it will probably be necessary to wait until the fall to officially obtain all its characteristics. The smartphone will probably be launched during the month of October, under Android 14, currently in Developer Preview.
