Available since last October, the Pixel 8 And Pixel 8 Pro generally keep all their promises. On the other hand, a surprising screen problem seems to mar the experience of the first users.

Google’s latest flagships, powered by artificial intelligence, undoubtedly enjoy many qualities. But as is very often the case when new devices are launched, they are currently facing a surprising screen problem.

A problem which would not really be one, according to recent statements from the American firm…

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have screen issues, but…

For some time now, some Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro owners have been complaining about the appearance of bumps under the screen of their smartphone. If these mysterious appearances do not directly affect the functionalities of the touch screen (nor its quality), it is clear that they can prove to be particularly annoying, if only in one respect. from a purely aesthetic point of view.

As you can see in the image above, these bumps under the Pixel 8’s display are showing up in several places, and appear, on the surface, to be the result of pressing against the bottom of the OLED panel.

On the Reddit platform, a user recently claimed to have replaced their Pixel 8 for a Pro model. If the problem would be less serious than with the entry-level variant, it unfortunately still remains present. But according to Google, it’s nothing serious.

Google speaks, and everything is fine!

Well aware of the situation, Google finally spoke up. And, according to her, there is nothing to worry about. These bumps under the screen would actually be perfectly normal since they would be directly linked to the new panels of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Here is more exactly what she declared in the columns of 9to5Google (comments reported by Ars Technica):

The Pixel 8 phones have a new screen. When the screen is off, not in use, and in specific lighting conditions, some users may see impressions of device components that look like small bumps. There is no functional impact on the performance or durability of the Pixel 8 “.

Fortunately, the bumps are only visible in bright light and do not seem to bother any users affected by this problem. It is nevertheless curious to see that not all models are in the same boat. In addition, there is no guarantee that the bumps under the screen will not become more pronounced over the months.
