Many Google aficionados hoped to obtain more information on the Pixel 9 on May 14, 2024, during the event organized by the brand for developers. The Mountain View firm having unveiled its Pixel 8a a week earlier, we could expect some revelations. The star of this Google I/O was nevertheless artificial intelligence and the many advances that await users.
The Pixel 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL have nevertheless made headlines thanks to a series of leaks from the Russian site Rozetkedwhich presented a detailed overview of the characteristics, design and even dimensions of these future terminals.
A redesigned photo block
Google seems to have opted for a different look from previous generations, which tends to confirm previous leaks. The rounded edges would be replaced by flat edges, following the trend inaugurated by Apple. The horizontal bar of the photo block has also been redesigned, adopting an oblong format. The screen size would vary slightly between models, with 6.24 inches for the Pixel 9, 6.34 inches for the Pixel 9 Pro and 6.73 inches for its XL version.
All Pixel 9 models would also benefit from an Amoled screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as Google’s Tensor G4 chip designed for AI. While the minimum storage should not exceed 128 GB for all models, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL would have 16 GB of RAM, compared to 12 GB for the standard Pixel 9.
Photo quality remaining one of the flagship arguments of the Pixel, Google would equip its Pro and Pro XL models with a triple module with main sensor, ultra wide-angle and telephoto lens equipped with a 5x optical zoom, all at 50 Mpx. The standard Pixel 9 would make do with a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle, like its predecessors.
This information should be taken with a grain of salt while awaiting confirmation from the manufacturer. For its part, the Pixel 8a is finally available and seems to keep its promises.
