We see more or less wacky projects flourish on Kickstarter, but here’s one that should certainly attract some fans. MelGeek has created a Lego-style mechanical keyboard called Pixel that can be endlessly customized with their favorite bricks and characters. Enough to brighten up your workspace with an original keyboard and much more fun than the classic black plastic model.

The keyboard can be customized as desired.

Combine business with pleasure

Not content with being functional, the Pixel is loaded with rather advanced features: compatible with Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, it is wireless and can be connected via Bluetooth or using a 2.4 GHz receiver for a faster connection. A USB-C cable is provided, but others are available as an option (USB-A, Lightning, etc.). It also has switches Mechanical (switches) for flawless responsiveness, and you can choose from different models at Kailh and Gateron when selecting the options for your keyboard. The switches are also hotswappablesthat is to say that they can be easily replaced by other models, which will be clipped directly onto the chassis.

Kailh and Gateron mechanical switches were chosen by the manufacturer.

The angle of inclination is of course adjustable with… Lego bricks, and there are even some decorative LEDs on the edges or to indicate the activation of certain keys, even if the set is unfortunately not backlit. . Finally, if your childhood is now far away and you have squandered all your Lego reserves, know that it will be possible to add sets of colored pieces when ordering to customize the keyboard to your liking.

A site is dedicated to the virtual creation of its keyboard, pixel by pixel, and you will be able to find there the more or less brilliant designs proposed by fans.
