Google has been preparing a tablet for some time now, dubbed the Pixel Tablet, which is supposed to join its line of Pixel smartphones and headphones. We were also able to discover it briefly during the last Google I/O.
The Polish developer Kuba Wojciechowski has collaborated with the site 91mobiles to reveal the first characteristics of its technical sheet.
The Tensor at the controls
We discover that the Pixel Tablet could be equipped with the Google Tensor SoC, which is found in particular on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. According to the site, however, it would not be the second generation, planned for the Pixel 7.
If true, however, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Indeed, the Google Tensor displays excellent performance, which should ensure a smooth multitasking and gaming experience. The chip in question would be supported by 128/256 GB of storage, and compatible with wifi 6.
Regarding the display, this Pixel Tablet would have a 10.95 inch panel. However, it is not specified whether it is an Oled or LCD screen. This will depend in particular on its tariff placement. If Google decides to position it on the mid-range, LCD technology could be preferred.
The photo behind?
Regarding the photo, the tablet would use the same sensor on the front and the back. But no further details are currently available. The focus on the photo should not be as important as on smartphones. The hardware chosen is therefore very unlikely to be equivalent to that of the Pixel 6 or 7.
The site specifies that the tablet has already entered the validation phase. The rest of the information should therefore be readily available. This may allow the Mountain View firm to lift the veil on a supposed “Pro” version, spotted by our colleagues from 9to5Google.
It would be a better equipped model, which would not clash with the rest of the products in the Pixel range. Google could nevertheless wait to see if the standard model arouses enthusiasm before committing.
