Pixel Watch: Google reveals its Gorilla Glass connected watch in a new video

Long awaited, the Pixel Watch has become a reality since its official presentation at the last Google I/O. An event that was an opportunity to confirm its curvaceous design, but not much else in the end, the hardware details are still pending and the anticipated prices are still only at the rumor stage. .

It is during the Made by Google event on October 6 that the hardware and software specifics of Google’s first connected watch should be revealed. Until then, the Mountain View firm has chosen to continue to communicate around the design of its tocante by presenting it from new angles in a short video. The opportunity especially to see it on the wrist of a man, then a woman, in order to better realize its size.

Quite thick in appearance, the Pixel Watch seems rather discreet thanks to its curves, its curved back integrating the island of sensors in front a priori sink a little into the skin like on all competing connected watches. We are thinking in particular of the Galaxy Watch 5, for which Samsung even considers that the entire curved part must be invisible, going so far as to exclude it in its calculation of dimensions.

The raw numbers ultimately matter less than the actual perceived comfort of wearing a watch. We’re curious to see how Google will address the issue with its Pixel Watch.

On a technical level, this new video teaches us one thing: the back of the Pixel Watch is made of Gorilla Glass, which is therefore scratch resistant. Is this the case for the front glass as well, or will Google have preferred sapphire crystal like its competitor Samsung? We will probably find out from October 6th.
