The American manufacturer has finally presented the Pixel Watch, its very first connected watch. If you follow Google news, you might know that the Pixel Watch is one of the brand’s great Arlesians, since rumors about him have been going strong since 2018 at least! In recent weeks, the revelations about her had also multiplied on the web, so much so that she had almost no more secrets for us. Nevertheless, let’s take stock of the product after the official presentation from Google.

The Pixel Watch is therefore presented as the first connected watch from Google powered by WearOS 3.5, the latest version of the OS dedicated to the brand’s smartwatches. With the Pixel Watch, the company wants to offer the ultimate Google experience on the user’s wrist. This is why many of the American giant’s flagship applications are natively installed on the watch, such as Google Wallet (for your payments), Gmail and Calendar or even the Google search engine and Google Maps. YouTube Music Premium is also in the gamewith 3 months of subscription offered to each purchaser of the Pixel Watch.

In addition, the Pixel Watch is logically part of the Google ecosystem. In fact, it is possible to use the Find my Device function, the Google Assistant or the Google Home app to manage your home automation devices from your connected watch for example. It obviously works with the Google Pixel 4, 5 and 6 as well as with the Pixel Buds. It is also compatible with Android 8.0 or newer smartphones.

Fitbit’s expertise in health tracking

Health monitoring also remains one of the main fields of action of the Pixel Watch. To do this, Google can count on the expertise of Fitbit, which has belonged to the firm since November 2019. According to the manufacturer, the Pixel Watch thus embarks “Fitbit’s most accurate heart rate sensor. Thanks to machine learning, the Pixel Watch is constantly improving its calorie expenditure analysisactive minutes, daily fitness score and sleep tracking. Note that the ECG (electrocardiogram) application is also included.

Of course, the Pixel Watch will also accurately track your sports performance. Via Fitbit Premium (6 months subscription offered with the purchase of the watch), users will be able to access more than a thousand training sessions, 40 modes available, training and meal programming, personalized wellness report and a dashboard on their health indicators (resting heart rate, respiratory rate, etc.).

So far, Google has announced the following prices: €379 for the Wi-Fi version and €429 for the 4G LTE version. As mentioned above, six months of Fitbit Premium subscription will be offered to all purchasers during the launch period.
