Everything seemed to be going well for Syber and its strong fundraising for thousands of NFT
to acquire in order to finance its future RPG
pixelmon.

The story has nevertheless turned into a fiasco, because very many users are not satisfied with the quality of NFTs.

If you like pixels and aren’t very picky…

pixelmon has been at the heart of NFT news for quite a while now. Indeed, the non-fungible tokens created by Syber for its new game do not appeal at all to those who have acquired them, for many reasons. The first, and most important, is the appearance of these NFTs, inspired by visuals mixing the universes Pokemon and Minecraft.

Being the subject of numerous taunts on Twitter, the second reason is that these NFTs nevertheless had everything, or almost, to be successful. Syber’s huge fundraising on OpenSea, since the auction generated the equivalent of $70 million in Ethereum (ETH), could give hope for better design results. In addition, the high entry ticket, of the order of 3 ETH, or nearly 8,000 euros, further accentuated the expectations of buyers.

In fact, the firm intends to use a large part of this sum to develop its future open-world RPG in the metaverse, the project pixelmonwhich is scheduled to launch in the third or fourth quarter of 2022. The NFTs acquired should be directly usable in the game and give advantages to those who own them over other players.

Syber argues that he was ” not ready »

Did the revelation, made on February 25, come too quickly for Syber? This is what the firm seems to argue, while 6,666 NFTs were generated. The day after this revelation, their value was divided by ten, reflecting the dissatisfaction of the buyers. Syber, however, did not go through four paths on Discord: “ […] We made a horrible mistake. We felt pressure to do the reveal when in reality we were just not ready. »

While Syber announces that it wants to devote a budget of two million dollars to offer a new design to its NFTs, the firm assures that their appearance will be much better in the upcoming game. She even reveals some images on her Twitter account.

Not sure, however, that this is enough to restore the image of Syber and his future game pixelmon. Also on Twitter, the number of tweets qualifying these NFTs as a scam is legion, and the trend does not seem to be reversing.
