Emmanuel Macron is moving this Thursday to Savines-le-Lac in the Hautes-Alpes. The Head of State will deliver a speech at 12:30 p.m. to present the government’s water plan. The oppositions regularly criticize the President for not going enough into the field. Does he want to demonstrate the opposite?

On the occasion of the presentation of the government’s water plan, to improve water management, Emmanuel Macron is going this Thursday to Savines-le-Lac in the Hautes-Alpes where he will give a speech this Thursday noon. If it is officially for Emmanuel Macron to present the Water plan, supposed to respond to the challenge of global warming and prepare for the new drought which threatens, there is another objective for the Head of State.

A trip announced at the last moment

That of showing that he is not bunkered, that he is not locked up in his ivory tower as his opponents repeat at will. Especially since the time seems right, the protest is starting to show the first signs of weakness with fewer people in the street. But his entourage remains on his guard. As a precaution, the Élysée waited until the last moment to announce this move.

The CGT des Hautes-Alpes launches a call for mobilization

On site, the CGT des Hautes-Alpes launched a call for mobilization. The union is planning a welcome committee for the President of the Republic. Consequence: the police force promises to be particularly important in Savines-le-Lac, a town of 1,000 inhabitants.

It is not today that Emmanuel Macron will be able to turn the page on pensions, although he changes the subject. “The President wants to make contact,” maintains an adviser. It remains to be seen, although it is not planned at this stage, if he will risk a walkabout.
