The automotive supplier Plastic Omnium announced on Wednesday that it was changing its name to OPmobility, with the manufacturer emphasizing its desire to address “all players in sustainable mobility”.

“By becoming OPmobility, Plastic Omnium is opening a new page in its history,” explains the Burelle family group in a press release, which in 2023 exceeded the 10 billion euro turnover mark.

The year was driven by the group’s classic activities in bumpers and tanks, but also by its acquisitions in the field of lighting (AMLS Osram, Varroc).

Supplier in particular to Stellantis, Renault and Tesla, OPmobility said on Wednesday that it was “open to all mobility” and “determined to support their transitions on the path to decarbonization”.

“Through this name change, we are addressing all players in sustainable mobility, in all geographies,” explained the general director of OPmobility, Laurent Favre, quoted in a press release.

The equipment manufacturer’s workforce has fallen by 5% since 2019 in Europe. At the end of 2023, it had 40,300 employees worldwide, in 152 factories and 40 R&D centers.
