Players apparently not vaccinated: NBA star Irving is “not eligible to play”

NBA star Irving is “not eligible”

Kyrie Irving will only be able to watch the home game of his Brooklyn Nets against the Milwaukee Bucks. The basketball player is apparently still not vaccinated against the corona virus – which makes it impossible to use in New York.

Basketball star Kyrie Irving will not play in the Brooklyn Nets’ home game against NBA defending champion Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. This emerges from the list of injuries published by the NBA, in which Irving is listed as “not eligible to play”. This is another indication that the 29-year-old basketball player is not vaccinated against the coronavirus.

In New York, only vaccinated people are allowed in gyms according to current regulations. Exceptions are only made for professionals from guest teams, but not for athletes from New York-based teams such as the Nets. Irving has not been clear about his vaccination status in public. At his team’s media day, he was the only one who was not present in person but switched on via video and asked for privacy on the subject.

The game of the Nets against the Bucks is the team’s second preparation game. The Nets won the first test against the Los Angeles Lakers without stars Kevin Durant, James Harden and Irving. The NBA season begins October 19th.
