Players say they’re willing to sacrifice visual quality for shorter development times – The Elder Scrolls 6

As you probably already know, developing a game takes a lot of time. So, usually, development studios work on a title for several years, if not many years. For example, we could cite The Elder Scrolls 6, which was announced at E3 2018, concurrently with Starfield.

Players are therefore used to having to wait a long time before being able to get their hands on a game. However, the latter say they are ready to make some concessions: lower their expectations in terms of visual quality/fidelity for shorter development times. In any case, this is what a recent survey on RestEra shows.

The results of this are as follows: 56.1% of voters are in favor while 19.6% want the developers to take more time, because they believe that ” some games work approximately when released “. 24.3% of players who voted say they are satisfied with the current development times. In addition, many people have left a comment on this survey, which is rather interesting you will certainly agree.

As a reminder, in June 2022, we learned that The Elder Scrolls 6 was still only in pre-production. As a result, this suggests that the software will not land before 2025, at the earliest.
