Playground vandalism – trees peeled: 30,000 euros damage

Six deciduous trees were badly damaged on a playground in Bregenz, three can no longer be saved. The reason: a hitherto unknown perpetrator had peeled off the bark of the trees, making them no longer viable. The damage is immense and is more than 30,000 euros.

On the night of May 15th, a previously unknown group of perpetrators tampered with a total of six deciduous trees on the Strabonstrasse playground in Bregenz. The perpetrators peeled off the vital bark of six deciduous trees with a special tool or pointed object. As a result, three trees were completely destroyed and must be felled. The total damage is more than 30,000 euros. The city police and the Bregenz Police Inspectorate are asking any witnesses to the incident to get in touch.
