Playing on a 120-inch screen on the move? This is what the Viture One promises… and its Kickstarter breaks records

Over $2.6 million was raised on KickStarter for these rather enticing Viture One XR goggles.

Some Kickstarter campaigns explode the budget initially set. This is the case with Viture One XR glasses (extended reality glasses). Seven days before the deadline, the project has raised more than $2.6 million obtained from 4,366 contributors. To put that amount into perspective, the first Kickstarter for the Oculus Rift hit $2.4 million. And above all, it is an amount quite far from the initial objective of 20,000 dollars.


Glasses for gaming or watching movies on a 120-inch virtual screen

It must be said that on paper, these glasses offer a great promise. They would allow play AAA games or watch movies anywhere, anytime via 5G/Wi-Fi connection “.

These XR glasses would be able to project the equivalent of a 120-inch (304.8 cm) virtual screen with 1080p definition at 60 Hz. 800 cd/m². An electrochromic film attenuates or lightens the image with a level of transparency ranging from 5 to 80%.

The Viture One weigh 77 grams, a weight almost equivalent to that of TCL’s NXTWEAR G (75 grams). They incorporate a directional speaker located in one of the branches.

In terms of connectivity, alone, these glasses can connect to any device with a USB-C port: Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch and other Android smartphones, to name a few machines.

An optional neck strap and mobile dock

The glasses can be combined with an optional neck strap. This 170-gram collar features a 3,200 mAH battery, 128 GB of ROM storage, and adds Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and 5G wireless connectivity. It will have a whole bunch of pre-installed streaming apps (video, including Netflix, Disney+…, but also cloud gaming like NVIDIA’s GeForce Now).

Users will also be able to connect the glasses to a mobile dock to connect a Nintendo Switch, in particular.

These Viture One glasses have been tested by a few journalists, including Katie Wickens of gaming pc. The first shipments are expected in October or November 2022. The starting price for the glasses alone is $429, but they will be offered for more at retail, $549. The glasses / mobile dock combo is billed at the preferential rate of 529 dollars for the moment, then 678 dollars. Finally, the glasses with neck strap and mobile dock are offered from 629 dollars, then at 807 dollars.
