Steve Kerr: “I’m fed up, I’ve had enough!”

The Dallas Mavericks again prevent an early end in the NBA playoffs. However, the victory against the Golden State Warriors was overshadowed by the school massacre in Texas, in which the shooter killed at least 19 children. Warriors coach Steve Kerr in particular reacts emotionally and clearly.
The Dallas Mavericks avoided an early exit in the semifinals of the NBA playoffs. However, the 119:109 victory against the Golden State Warriors was a minor matter, the mood was very gloomy because of the massacre at a Texan elementary school in the small town of Uvalde, despite the success. An 18-year-old killed at least 19 children and two adults in the rampage on Tuesday, and the gunman was killed by security forces.

He responded with an emotional speech: “When are we going to do something?” Kerr yelled in a press conference before the Dallas Mavericks playoff game. “I’m fed up, I’ve had enough!” Kerr, a champion with the Chicago Bulls as a player alongside Michael Jordan, did not want to talk about basketball at all. Visibly moved and shaking, the 56-year-old said: “I’m tired. I’m so tired of getting up here and offering my condolences to the devastated families out there.” Again and again Kerr’s voice faltered, he slammed his hand on the table several times.
Kerr called for stricter gun control in the United States and addressed 50 senators who have so far prevented it. The eight-time NBA champion has long spoken out against gun violence. His father was shot dead in a terrorist attack in Beirut, Lebanon in 1984.
Dallas dominates the game
For national basketball player Maxi Kleber and his Dallas Mavericks, the victory means the chance to reach the finals, they reduced the best-of-seven series to 1:3. Kleber put on his best performance of the series so far, contributing 13 points and eight rebounds in 22 minutes of play. The best thrower of the game was again superstar Luka Doncic, who shone with 30 points. A total of six Dallas players scored in double figures. But the defense of the hosts was also convincing and kept Warriors star Stephen Curry in check with 20 points. Doncic also praised it: “If we play like that, we’re a dangerous team.”
Dallas dominated the game for long stretches, leading by 29 points in the fourth quarter. Towards the end of the game, the visitors turned up the heat and reduced the Mavs’ lead to eight points. But the hosts withstood the pressure and secured their first win of the series.
Golden State now has the next chance to make it into the NBA finals perfectly in the night from Thursday to Friday in its own hall. Never in the NBA’s 75-year history has a team gambled away a 3-0 lead in a playoff series.
