It has already been almost two and a half years since Discord has been integrated into the ecosystem PlayStationexcept that still currently, you have to go through the dedicated application to join a chat using the PS5… In short, it is absolutely neither practical nor clear in how to proceed and it is much faster to start a discussion with our smartphone near us. It took time, but Sony Interactive Entertainment will integrate natively in the coming weeks Discord at the console interface !

Over the past few years, we’ve worked with Discord to provide more ways for gamers to connect with friends and communities across Discord and on PS5 consoles. Since we introduced Discord voice chat on PS5, players have participated in over 290 million Discord voice chats on PS5 to chat with their friends while gaming.
Today we are excited to inform you that we have started the deployment ofa feature allowing PS5 players to join a Discord voice chat directly on their PS5 console. This way, they won’t need to use Discord on PC or the mobile app to make contact.
How to join a Discord voice chat on PS5
To get started, go to the PS5’s Control Center and select the Discord tab in Game Base. Next, choose the Discord server or messaging group you want to join. You can then select your preferred voice chat. You will have access to other information, such as who is already in the chat channel. You’ll also receive a notification on your PS5 console when another Discord user calls you, allowing you to respond to them immediately.
This update will make it even easier for you to join Discord conversations with other players. It will be deployed gradually over the coming weeks, first in Japan and Asia, then in Europe, Australia/New Zealand, the Middle East and finally in the Americas zone.
Note: You will need to have installed the latest update for your console and linked your accounts for PlayStation Network and Discord.
In parallel, sharing our profile PSN will become easierwhether via the console or the application.

Starting next week, a feature will be rolled out allowing you to share your PlayStation Network profile across any messaging or social media app. Start by selecting the “Share Profile” option from the PlayStation App or PS5 console to generate a QR code or link to share. When the recipient opens the link, they will be able to add you as their friends after signing in to PlayStation Network:
