PlayStation Now: More than fifty games are starting to disappear from the program

With its new PlayStation Plus, sony intends to merge the old PS Plus with the Playstation Now to achieve a more complete service than ever. We therefore expect PlayStation Now as we know it to begin to bow out, and it seems that this is already the case according to some users, who have noticed that the catalog is gradually getting lighter.

A scheduled migration to the new PS Plus?

On Reddita user named Cobra_Bite noticed that several dozen games were starting to be missing from the PS Now offer. He could see that some titles also displayed expiration dates, with a disappearance scheduled for the month of May, while some were yo-yoing between their presence on the service and their disappearance.

He was then able to note 56 games were affected at the momentsuch as the following games:

  • Akibas Beat
  • Akibas Trip
  • Destroy All Humans
  • MX vs. ATV Supercross Encore
  • sonic mania
  • sonic forces
  • Team Sonic Racing
  • Virtua Fighter V
  • Valkria Chronicles Remastered
  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World
  • Casrlevania Lord of Shadow
  • Katherine
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Metal Gear Rising
  • Metal Gear Solid 4
  • Silent Hill HD Collection
  • Sonic Adventure
  • Sonic Adventure 2
  • Sonic 4 Episode 1+2
  • Sonic Generations
  • Sonic Unleashed
  • Yakuza 4+5
  • And many others…

The disappearance of these titles – or the fact that they suddenly expire – has not yet been explained.. Some think it’s to better prepare for the migration to the new PS Plus catalog, while others, more pessimistic, see it as a sign of a clear disappearance of games on this service, with contracts that don’t would not have been renewed to make them integrate the PS Plus.

We do not know the real cause for the moment, and we will therefore avoid drawing hasty conclusions, pending an official statement from Sony, and the complete catalog of the new PS Plus.
