For the cost of the subscription, the PlayStation Plus Essential program, in addition to the activation of the online game, gives subscribers the possibility of adding a few games to their toy libraries without having to go back to the cash register.

This month, three full games and an add-on are on the program.

OlliOlli World (PS5 | PS4)

Like its two predecessors in the OlliOlli franchise, this skate game plays in 2D like a platformer from the 8-bit/16-bit era. But even if the aesthetic approach is very different from a Tony Hawk Pro Skater, you will still need nimble fingers to land the ollies, heelflips, frontside 180° fakies and other shove-it pops and hope to get close to the highs scores for each level.

Evil Dead: The Game (PS5 | PS4)

Multiplayer FPS with asymmetrical gameplay (basically, a squad of “ordinary” players face a single player embodying a creature much stronger than them), Evil Dead The Game is the video game adaptation of the eponymous saga initiated by Sam Raimi, a true monument of gore horror film. Sticky atmosphere, dripping mobs, brutal and vicious weapons, sheaves of blood are obviously on the program; probably not the game of the century, but a good slice of bloody fun, especially with his friends.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light [DLC] (PS5 | PS4)

Year after year, the action MMO Destiny 2 from Bungie Studios continues to be played, enough in any case for DLCs to appear regularly. Beyond Light notably brings a new static elemental power: darkness. In any case, this is what the plug of the extension on the PSN indicates.

Mafia Definitive Edition (PS4)

Originally released in 2002 on PC, Mafia was entitled to its remake for our modern machines in 2022. Mafia Definitive Edition therefore takes up the plot of its glorious ancestor and it is with relish that we (re)discover the Babylonish city of Lost Heaven, setting of the adventures of Tommy Angelo in the 1930s and 1940s, a taxi driver who became a henchman around the corner of a (bad?) meeting. Leaving less freedom to the player than a GTA (to which it has often been wrongly compared), Mafia distills an inimitable atmosphere, thanks to the graphics of course, but also with the help of a jazzy soundtrack to the marrow, in which Django Rheinhardt rubs shoulders with Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway.
